The Perfect Mother's Day Breakfast
Happy Mothers Day!
INGREDIENTS
-3 Tbsp sugar
-1/2 cup milk (whole is best)
-3 eggs, beaten
-2 tsp vanilla extract
-2 tsp of ground cinnamon
-8 slices of brioche or challah bread
-Zest of 1/4 an orange
-Strawberries, whipped cream, melted chocolate, and powdered sugar for toppings
-(Additional 2 tbsp of sugar and juice of half an orange for macerated strawberries)
METHOD
-In a bowl beat together eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, orange zest, and vanilla extract
-Submerge bread in the bowl for a few seconds, allowing it to soak up all the custard
-To make macerated strawberries combine 2 tbsp of sugar with sliced strawberries, orange juice, and a bit of orange zest.
-Place a pan on med heat and add butter
-Once the butter begins to bubble begin to lay bread into the pan
-After about 3-4 minutes give the bread a flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes
-Serve with strawberries, whipped cream, and melted chocolate
